Writer's Block Over Here
Writer's block over here. This tooth thing has made me a little nuts. I'll spare the details, but recovery from this thing is slower than I thought it would be, and I have pain at night so I don't sleep and despite large volumes of caffeine in the morning, I feel like I'm in a fog all the time.
So I'm posting a current picture of Marty's garden. Note the solar lights - very cool - they light up at night (I guess that's what solar lights do).
The veggie garden has turned out to be a disaster. The only veggie growing, besides some lettuce, is zucchini. Some animals have eaten the tomato, bean and pea plants. I have to say, it has not been as much fun working in the garden this year. It's very buggy out there and having all those mosquito bites is yet another reason for me not to sleep.

I'm sorry to hear that your tooth is still causing you so much pain; is this supposed to be part of the normal recovery?
Your first-year veggie garden woes, though, are all too normal, I fear. I think vegetable gardens are like omelets: the first one might not be much to look at. It's taken us five years and a few threats (listen up you lazy sprouts: if you won't start producing, then we're gonna buy a share in a garden that will) to get our garden to finally shape up.
Hope you get some sleep soon.
Sending along positive thoughts that your tooth problems are solved soon. Don't you just love the solar lights?! We started out with a few and now they are all over the property in various locations. I look out into the orchard and see these little lamps. And my garden makes me cry. Don't think I've ever had a year this bad.
On a positive note, please stop by today and pick up a little something I left for you. Hope it raises your spirits a little.
Feel better soon!
I am so sorry to hear that the healing up is taking longer than you thought - adding some prayers that the process speeds up, and you're back to normal soon!
I love that little garden you have made...and the neat touch of the lights, so you can see it at night. Peaceful little spot...nice!
I like your comment about the solar lights. lol.
I know you're really having a terrible time with this one. Meanwhile, this is a lovely post and seeing Marty's garden always makes me happy.
If you have an overload of zucchini, take a cue from Beth (From the HeART) and make/freeze zucchini bread for Christmas gifts this year! My tomatoes are small and green, very behind. Weather, not critters. Love Anno's analogy!
I didn't intend to leave a comment but in glancing at the capcha verification, it said "wacheeda". It reminded me of Kansas and where Garmin GPS is headquartered. Wacheeda is the big city in Kansas, sin't it? I think they spell it "Wichita", though.
